Athletes
I am taking on a small group of athletes to provide mental performance coaching. As a pediatrician who has studied Applied Sports Psychology and as an endurance athlete who has ridden and ran hundred mile mountainous trail ultras—I offer a unique package, blending expertise in medicine, tech, endurance sports, performance coaching, and mental health. What are your goals? Could you use some help reaching them? If you are interested in online or in-person coaching, please reach out directly to jud@thebalancedathlete.org or click the button below and we can discuss rates.

Young Athletes (Tweens, Teens & Young Adults)
Given my background as a pediatrician, I naturally have a focus on youth athletes and young adults, and I love to coach with a focus on mindset and resilience—in sport and life. I focus on developing intrinsic motivation, tapping into Flow, and a developing a mindset that allows you to work from the inside out. What are your athletic goals and what’s your plan to accomplish them? How might this help you in your current athletic journey? If a parent, is your child learning the right things on the field as other parents scream from the sidelines? How are they acting in the house, at school and in the classroom… is that sitting well with you? Is all that playing time really building the mindset you crave in your child? If you are an athlete or parent interested in online or in-person coaching, please reach out directly to jud@thebalancedathlete.org or click the button below and we can discuss rates.

Students and Professionals
I’ve made several major career pivots in my life that have had people around me saying, “How did you do that, Jud?” The first was choosing to pursue a career in medicine late in my junior year at Whitman College. The second was moving far from home to the east coast for residency. The third was beginning to own and run a private pediatrics practice. The fourth was pivoting to tech to join a stealth startup and growing into a health tech executive leader. The fifth was launching this Substack. The next is yet to come. I’d love to help you on your own personal journey reaching new personal, academic or professional heights, and in navigating the normal way those changes strain your mind. Maybe you’re ready for a pivot? Maybe you’re ready for a promotion? Let’s get there together. Reach out directly at jud@thebalancedathlete.org or click the button below and we can discuss rates.
